This Privacy Policy describes how Shashi's Apps handles information when you use the Mridangam — Mridanga Laya Vinyasa, Carnatic Tala Companion android applications and associated web tools, and other applications. Your privacy is important to us.

1. Information We Collect

Our apps are designed to function primarily on-device. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information. Specifically:

• The Mridangam Android app and Carnatic Tala Companion Android app do not require a login, account creation, or registration.
• All rhythmic patterns, sequences, and settings you create in Mridangam app are stored locally on your device only.
• Any audio files (such as m4a exports) generated by the Mridangam app are saved directly to your local device storage. We do not transmit your musical compositions, exported files, or usage habits to external servers.
• Tala definitions created in Carnatic Tala companion are stored locally on your device.
• The Kannada Transliterator web app runs entirely in your browser — no text input is stored or transmitted.

2. Automatically Collected Information

Certain technical data may be collected automatically by the platforms we use, but not by us directly:

• Google Play Store: Crash reports and aggregate install statistics (no individual identification). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Android OS: Diagnostic and performance data as configured on your device.

3. Third-Party Services & Monetization

Our site and apps utilize third-party services with their own privacy practices:

• Google Play Billing: Used to process the one-time premium upgrade securely. All payment processing is managed entirely by Google. We never see, collect, or store your credit card or financial information.
• YouTube (Google): Any tutorial videos linked from this site. Viewing is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Store: App distribution. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Android App Permissions

The Mridangam app and Carnatic Tala Companion app may request the following permissions (All optional), used solely for the features described:

• Keep Screen On: To prevent the device's screen from sleeping during live playback.
• Suppress Calls & Notifications: To keep the Live performance screens undisturbed by incoming alerts.
• Background Audio Notifications: To display a media control notification when the app's audio engine is running in the background.

No permission is used for data collection, advertising, or any purpose beyond core app functionality.

5. Data Security

Because your data stays on your device, its security depends on your device's security settings. We recommend using a PIN, password, or biometric lock to protect your device and its contents.

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected on this page with a revised date. We encourage you to review it occasionally.
